THE sun shone for St Mary Bourne’s annual fete and flower show.
Villagers turned out for the fete last Saturday, which was followed by a flower and vegetable auction.
Other entertainment included a fancy dress dog show, tortoise races and donkey rides, along with a scarecrow competition, Oddballz circus skills and children’s fancy dress with the theme of nursery rhyme characters.
Visitors kept refreshed with the help of a Pimm’s tent as well as a barbecue and a cake stall.
Villager Derek Kane, who was manning a Priors Players stall, said about the day: “It was a beautiful summer day, it always seems to be for St Mary Bourne fete and flower show, but fortunately my stall was under the trees in the shade.
“We had a lot of interest in our forthcoming 2015 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
