A SUMMER market drew crowds to Nether Wallop and raised money for the local church.

The annual Nether Wallop Summer Market took place at The Square last Saturday.

Stalls sold cakes, plants, bric-a-brac and bowls of curry.

There were also duck races along the Wallop Brook and a treasure map for children.

All money raised, which is still being counted, will go to St Andrew’s Church.

John Waits, treasurer of the PCC, said: “It didn’t rain, which was a vast improvement on a lot of previous years. What was very positive was a number of stalls sold out completely which suggested we had a good result.

“It was well attended from start to finish and we all enjoyed ourselves.”

He added: “A big thank you to the team from the Parochial Church Council who organised it all.”
