OWNERS of a smallholding have applied for permission to build an agricultural workers’ cabin on land near Andover – but planners are not happy with it.
Tina Wells has applied for planning permission from Test Valley Borough Council for Oaktrack Smallholding, in Hungerford Lane, Tangley. She wants to build an agricultural workers’ cabin, a lambing shed and barn extension, as well as a single-storey farm shop.
The plans have received support from Tangley Parish Council and neighbours, as well as a petition of 38 signatures for the proposal.
However, planning officers have recommended the application be refused when it is considered by the borough council’s northern area planning committee on Thursday. Planners say they do not accept the need for an agricultural dwelling.
