TIDWORTH’S polo festivities have been under attack from vandals intent on causing criminal damage, say police.

Between 10pm on Saturday 5 July and 4pm on Monday at Perham Down Garrison Polo Fields an offender drove through a fence and across the pitch causing damage.

Then between 8pm on Tuesday and 8am the following morning an offender tore down and smashed up signs on the A338 south of Tidworth advertising a polo match.

The damage comes just days in advance of the high profile Rundle Cup match at Tidworth between the Royal Navy and The Army tomorrow.

The closely fought contest attracts thousands of spectators and on occasion some royal participants
