HAMPSHIRE County Council is being asked to examine whether or not the county should become a unitary authority – effectively abolishing its district and borough councils.
UKIP councillors Chris Wood and Philip Fawkes have tabled a notice of motion to the meeting of the full council on 17 July.
It says that the council should investigate what efficiency savings could be achieved if Hampshire became a unitary council like Wiltshire.
