MEMBERS of Overton Black Arrows have enjoyed recent success representing their county and in shoots across the country.

Genni Elliot and Ian Boreham both represented Hampshire in a target match defeat against Sussex. Both shot in the longbow class with Genni the highest Hampshire lady and Ian the second Hampshire archer in his class.

However, Genni did have success at the Southern Counties Archery Society Longbow Championships when she was awarded the Rhodes Plaque.

Debbie Lodge took third place.

Elsewhere Overton Black Arrows member Richard Tungate-Thorn, shooting the recurve bow freestyle (as in the Olympics), represented the club at a number of Field archery events.

Bill Jones shot bare bow, without sights, in the Hampshire Field Championships and became County Champion.

Meanwhile David Backers was presented with The Grey Edwards Trophy for services to Hampshire Archery, a prestigious award that can only be received once.
