IMPORTANT planning application documents will still be available in paper format in Wiltshire, a leading official has promised.

Alistair Cunningham, Wiltshire Council’s director of economic development and planning, made the pledge after being questioned by the chairman of Ludgershall Town Council Owen White at a meeting in Tidworth on Wednesday evening when the Salisbury Plain masterplan was being examined.

Cllr White asked: “Are we going to receive hard copy or will plans be hidden away on a website somewhere.”

Mr Cunningham said: “We will ensure that we can get hard copy to town and parish councils.”

Town and parish council have sometimes complained that it is more difficult to properly consider applications on screen or from print-offs.
