A JOB club for those looking for work will be meeting for the next four Tuesdays at King Arthur’s Hall, in Andover, from 1pm.

The free Andover Job Club Skills Training Course has had its successful second week.

Local entrepreneur Nick Rose opens each session explaining, from an employer’s point of view, what businesses are looking for in a successful applicant.

The group then splits up so that members of the Andover Careers Action group, run by Kevin Moore, can offer one-toone interview mentoring.

The rest of the group can access the Internet using computers provided by Janet Palmer’s Andover Jobs Club.

Mr Rose said: “We found that those who attended the first two sessions were looking to get back into work after a period of absence, or after being in the same job for a very long time.”

In the first week of the course, two people who attended had job interviews the following day, so they welcomed the chance to practise their skills in advance.”

You can attend the job skills training course by calling the Andover Adults and Family Learning Centre on 01264 359062.
