CHILDREN were encouraged to get excited about the wildlife around them during a discovery day.
Test Valley Borough Council held its wildlife discovery day at Rooksbury Mill Nature Reserve on Saturday.
There were all sorts of activities on offer, with stalls teaching various skills.
Youngsters could have a go at making their own bird feeders and bug houses with Catherine Savage on the Tarca stand while Test Valley’s mascot Trevor the Trout looked for water insects to observe and identify.
