SHEPHERD Spring Pre- School Nursery is celebrating a “good” inspection report from Ofsted.

The report rated how well the early years provision meets the needs of the range of children who attend; the contribution of the early years provision to the wellbeing of children; and, the effectiveness of the leadership and management of the early years provision, as “good’.

The report’s summary said: “Staff interact with the children with genuine care and warmth.

“They are attentive and empathic therefore children make good bonds with staff.

“Children benefit from good quality, accessible resources which are attractive, stimulating and varied to support their play choices and interests.

“Staff work hard to maintain solid relationships that effectively support the children and parents that attend.

“The management has a clear vision to enhance the monitoring of the provision and to encourage staff through supervision and professional development.”

However, the report added that the nursery fell short from outstanding when it said: “Some children’s files lack enough information to provide a clear picture of their all round development.”

Nursery manager, Jo Robinson, said: “I am absolutely chuffed to bits with the result “I have worked here for approximately 20 years so now being a manager and going through an Ofsted inspection getting a good mark has been a great result.

“We have about 150 children and employ 20 staff, so I would also like to thank all the staff, committee and parents which were involved.”
