FOUR new homes could be built on a plot of land near Andover.

Test Valley Borough Council has received a planning application to build the cul-de-sac of detached four-bedroom houses on land adjacent to Park House, in Barley Road.

The land originally formed the garden of Park House before Augusta Park was built.

Many letters of objection have been received by the council, with nearby residents worried that the access would be too tight and that the buildings would be overbearing.

However, planning officers recommend that the plans should be approved by the northern area planning committee on Thursday, 8 May.

A report concluded: “It is considered that other material considerations outweigh the presumption against development in this instance.

“The proposal is considered to be accommodated on the site without detriment to the character and appearance of the area.”
