ANDOVER CE Primary School’s pupils have spent a week celebrating the arts with a range of activities and visitors to the school.
The week started with Alex Keller, ‘a steam-punk’ children’s author who addressed the whole school in an assembly and followed this up with creative writing workshops for KS2.
There were also two artists working with children throughout the school; Donna Vokes and Kelly Jenkins.
Donna worked with Years 3 and 4 to produce plaster of Paris sculptures which were then used to create bigger sculptures with wool.
Kelly worked with Year 5 and 6 to produce stained glass windows.
Other year groups produced a range of art forms from music to drama and weaving to plate painting.
The week ended with a visit from Kwame Bakoji-Hume, an African musician/artist who worked with pupils to produce artwork by recycling rubbish.
