WHITCHURCH music festival Rockus has announced further details ahead of this year’s event on 3 May.

The festival will be taking place on Saturday, 3 May at Longmeadow Indoor Arena between 1pm and midnight.

A stellar line up including The Beat, Echotape, KTS, Dream Overkill, Surfin Lungs and Carballou has already been confirmed.

Marie Page, line up organiser for Rockus said: “Last year we moved to a different format, meaning that the entire crowd could see every band if they want to, rather than having to choose – as in previous years.

“We have one large arena with the bands taking it in turns to play shorter sets.

“We got fantastic feedback about this last year so we’ve decided to carry on.

“We’ve got six incredible bands already confirmed for this year, with headliner The Beat, seeing us all out in style.”

Fiona Miller, speaking on behalf of Rockus, added: “We’ve kept the ticket prices as low as possible, at £15 for adults and £9.50 for 13 to 17- year-olds, which we believe is outstanding value for a full day of live original music.

“We do have to limit entry to the first 500 people, so we really want to encourage people to buy tickets online – we expect this year’s event to sell out and we’d really hate for anyone to be disappointed – we can’t guarantee entrance on the day.”
