STUDENTS from the University of Winchester’s Business School have won the Nielsen UK’s Business Case Competition.

Two teams of second year BA Business Management students participated in the national Nielsen Business Case Competition in Oxford, with one team crowned the overall winner.

The students from the winning team competed against other groups to address a realworld business issue.

Students worked on a case, with the help of Nielsen researchers, and presented solutions for creating competitive advantages to panels of expert judges.

Dr Anca Yallop, mentor to the teams and senior lecturer in marketing at the University of Winchester, said: “The competition offered our students the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice and to showcase their skills in developing insights to drive business.

“The judges commented that the presentation by the winning team stood out as being original, engaging and having a compelling story.”

The two teams from Winchester competed against two teams from the University of Northampton and two from the University of Surrey.

The winning team go on to represent the university and the UK in the international competition, which takes place from 24 to 26 June in Athens.
