HAMPSHIRE police and crime commissioner Simon Hayes wants to find out if Hampshire people have confidence in their local force.

Mr Hayes, pictured, is seeking questions from members of the public for the next Commissioner’s Performance, Accountability, Scrutiny and Strategy (Compass) meeting when the focus of this scrutiny meeting between the Commissioner and the Chief Constable will be on confidence in the police.

While public confidence in the police has been severely shaken in recent times following high-profile criticism of the conduct of a few officers, Mr Hayes wants assurances from Hampshire Chief Constable Andy Marsh.

Simon Hayes said: “I will seek assurances from Chief Constable Andy Marsh that the public can trust Hampshire Constabulary in the way it conducts itself in relation to areas such as leadership, governance and standards, complaints processes, and data and statistics.

“So, I invite members of the public to submit their own questions on this particular topic.”

The submission deadline is Thursday, 24 April and questions can be phoned in on 01962 871595 or emailed to opcc@hampshire.
