ANDOVER’S annual Passion Play has moved indoors to beat the bad weather.
Last year’s play – usually performed in the High Street – had to be cancelled following bitterly cold weather.
Now Unity Christian Theatre will stage its production at The Lights.
The Passion Play is traditionally performed at Easter and commemorates the last days of Jesus.
And for the past three years the play has been revived in the High Street.
This year it will take place at the Andover Theatre at 7.30pm on Monday, 14 and Tuesday, 15 April.
Tickets cost £7, or £8 for Pullman seats, and £4 for children.
Sharon O’Leary and Jez Jameson have created Death or Life by taking songs from musicals by Roger Jones, of Christian Music Ministries, hymns and traditional numbers, and adapting scenes from Peter Hutley’s Wintershall Passion and adding new material of their own.
The play will be performed with a cast of more than 50 and a strong six-piece band.
