MARIE Curie have thanked the people of Andover for their generous support of the Great Daffodil Appeal.
A total of £1,916.77 was raised in Andover, including at Tesco, which will fund another 95 hours of nursing care.
Since Marie Curie Cancer Care’s month-long Great Daffodil Appeal launched on 1 March, volunteer collectors have been out in force throughout the area to encourage people to make a donation and wear the charity’s daffodil pin to support people with a terminal illness.
Wendy Savage said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Marie Curie and helped to make this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal such a big success.
“The appeal simply wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful volunteer collectors including Andover Lions.
“The funds raised will make a very significant difference, helping Marie Curie Nurses provide more care to people with terminal illnesses and their families at the time when they most need support.”
