BOYS and men gathered to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.

The dads and lads fancy dress walk, in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, took place on Saturday afternoon.

More than 30 people set out from Goodworth Clatford and walked for three miles. Jenni Gomm organised the walk for six-year-old son Joe, who wanted to raise money for his grandad, who has terminal prostate cancer.

Jenni said: “My daughter and I do the Race for Life each year, but that’s a ladiesonly event, and there is nothing in the area for small legs to participate in.

“I was initially hoping for Joe to do the walk with his dad, maybe his godfather and possibly a family friend of ours.

“The word spread and now we have about 30 people doing the walk. What wonderful support.”

Burbidges Bakery, in Andover, donated sausage rolls to keep the walkers full of energy.
