AGE Concern Hampshire is calling on children of parents over 50 to turn off the TV this Mother’s Day.
According to a recent ICM Research survey half of all older people in the county consider the television their main form of company, a statistic that Age Concern Hampshire chief executive Rick Smith says is a sad reflection of diminishing family ties.
Rick said: “We are urging children everywhere to pick up the phone, write a letter or take mum out for a special day.”
