£10K up for grabs for WW1 projects

THE area board has set aside £10,000 of funding for community projects in the Tidworth area to commemorate the First World War.

Town and parish councils and other voluntary and community groups can apply for up to £1,000 before midday on Wednesday. Interested parties can call Mary Cullen on 01722 434260.

Other grants were given to: Castledown Radio (£4,200 to upgrade equipment), Chute Parish Council (£2,750 for Chute Cadley Pond reinstatement and repair), and Tidworth Scouts (£298.46 with which to buy a storage shed).

In addition, Castle Primary School PTA was granted £2,909.31 for play equipment and Collingbourne Ducis Parish Council £5,000 for a playground for under-fives.
