A COUPLE have shaved their heads to raise money for a cancer charity.
Alma and Iain Coull raised close to £1,000 for Myeloma UK following the sponsored head-shave on Saturday, 8 March at The Royal British Legion Club in Andover.
Alma was diagnosed with myeloma around Easter 2013 and is now getting ready, with high dose chemotherapy, for a stem cell transplant.
The chemotherapy treatment will cause her hair to fall out and she decided to organise a sponsored head shave before she was admitted to Southampton Hospital the following day when the transplant phase will begin.
The couple said: “Our thanks to all who donated to the Myeloma UK sponsored head shave in aid of bone marrow cancer.
“Special thanks go to The Royal British Legion Club for the use of the bar and to Keith who donated his time to do the head shaves.”
