SHOPKEEPERS have been urged to take heed of a conman who has been swindling staff in local shops when he asks to change money.
Usually it is a £10 or £20 note but police say he can introduce foreign money to further confuse.
The latest reported incident was in Tidworth on Wednesday, 12 February when a man went into a shop in Station Road at 10pm. He made a small purchase and then asked for change of a £20 note and eventually left with £30 of the shop’s money.
“The offender was male white, slim, 6ft 1in, aged about 30, with dark brown hair in an Essex style comb over, and a full beard.
“He had a London accent.”
Any similar incident should be reported to police on 101.
