AN Andover grandmother is too scared to sleep in her bedroom after her ceiling collapsed.

Patricia Taylor, 83, has described the 3ft by 4ft sized hole in her spare bedroom as a “nightmare”.

She told the Advertiser: “It’s a nightmare. I don’t remember this much damage in the war.”

She believes rainwater getting in because of loose roof tiles on her two-bedroom home in Pilgrims Way, which she reported to landlords Aster, three weeks ago, is to blame. The grandmother-oftwo, who has lived in the property for more than 25 years, says that despite reporting the problem the roof has not been fixed.

“I have been sleeping on the settee because I am scared as I thought at least I can get out the door if I have to. If I’m sleeping upstairs and the whole thing collapses then I will be stuck there.

“I am on edge all the time should it happen again.”
