EVENTS management student Holly McBeth is hoping to attract big support for her very first professional fundraising event.

Holly, who is in her final year at the University of Winchester, has organised a pamper evening to raise money for the disability charity Enham Trust.

She was first inspired to follow a career in events management at senior school when she helped run an indoor athletics event for local primary schools.

Her degree course brought her to a work placement within the fundraising team at Enham Trust, where she has been allowed to fly solo with her own ideas and set up an event from scratch.

“It’s been daunting, but exciting doing all the planning,” she said.

“We’re going to have a fantastic range of stalls and treatments – people can have their nails, make-up and hair done and their brows shaped.

“There’ll even be a spray tanning booth for that Strictly Come Dancing glow.”

She’s also managed to find raffle prizes including tickets to “Downton Abbey” itself – Highclere Castle, a meal at Esseborne Manor and a genuine Ice Watch.

All profits will go to Enham Trust, which supports disabled adults with care, accommodation, work and training choices so they live as independently as possible.

The trust is based at Enham Alamein near Andover.

Holly has spent hours searching for quality beauty professionals, distributing leaflets and persuading businesses to donate raffle prizes.

Now she’s hoping lots of people will go along to The Vault at Winchester University between 7.30pm and 10pm on 25 February and support her efforts.

Tickets are £3 in advance or £5 on the night.
