SHIPTON Bellinger Village Centre unveiled its new improvements at an opening evening on Friday, 24 January.

The centre has spent £20,000 to install a suspended room and a new heating system for the community space and has further plans for the future.

This project was part funded by a Lottery Grant as well as financial support from Test Valley Borough Council.

Shipton Bellinger Village Centre chairman David Sperry said: “We are all very pleased with the work that has been done as it has improved the area so much which is a real centre point for the community.

“There used to be an echo in the chamber but now the acoustics are much better and the heating is much improved.”

Vice chairman Andrew Sullivan said: “It really needed doing and the work has really changed the whole atmosphere of the place, it’s fantastic.”

The Centre has future plans for extra speakers for live music and events and they are also looking to improve the stage area and install Wi- Fi to be able to open the space up to businesses for seminar use.
