A STUDY to improve the A303 trunk road is under way.

The Government announced in June it would carry out a feasibility study and it has now published a “scoping document”.

The A303 is 92 miles long and runs from Basingstoke to east Devon and has been called “highway to the sun”

because of its popularity with holidaymakers.

It is plagued by a number of bottlenecks, the most notorious of which is at Stonehenge.
