A GROUP of health conscious walkers, who have been putting their best foot forward in Ludgershgall over the past year, celebrated their first anniversary with a cake.

The group is part of a county-wide health initiative organised by Wiltshire Council coordinator Rosie Golding, who decided to made a cake to celebrate at the Crown Inn pub.

The landlady Jeannette Cummins serves coffee after each week’s walk for a donation, which over the year has raised more than £500 and which has been split between charities Help for Heroes and Macmillan Nurses.

The group meets every Tuesday at 9.30am in the car park in St James Street, Ludgershall, before setting off for a walk. Everyone is welcome to join for this healthly and social gathering – free of charge.
