THE Cathedrals Express steam train will visit Andover station as it celebrates St David’s Day on Saturday, 1 March.

The train will be taking a special trip to Bath and Cardiff and will be picking up passengers from Andover at 9.15am.

The train, which is scheduled to be hauled by 34067 Tangmere, a Battle of Britain Class locomotive, will first visit Salisbury, from where it will follow the stunning route through the Wylye and Avon valleys to the beautiful city of Bath, where passengers can opt to spend the day.

Alternatively they can stay on the train as it makes its way through breathtaking scenery to Cardiff, where they can soak up the unique carnival atmosphere as the city celebrates its National Day.

Steam Dreams chairman Marcus Robertson said: “Our St David’s Day trip has become a real Cathedrals Express tradition and we are delighted to once again be visiting the capital of Wales on this special day.”

Tickets are available in all four classes, ranging from £99 in premium standard through to the top class of Pullman Style Dining at £225 per person.
