TOWN councillors in Tidworth have long been active supporters of Christmas festivities but excelled themselves this year as the scope of celebrations were extended and expanded.
The town has enjoyed Christmas lights for many years but this year the switch-on festivities were under the auspices of the council’s community development committee.
Last week saw the traditional carols around the Christmas tree but this year there was the added addition of authentic reindeer Donner and Blitzen.
And where you have reindeer in December you usually have Father Christmas – and so it was in Tidworth on Thursday.
Two days later, skating enthusiasts of all ages were able to take to the “ice” as a rink was established in the Community Centre car park for the entire weekend.
Once again this was at the request of Tidworth Town Council.
