AUDREY Wilson has retired from her role at Shepherd Spring Pre- School after 45 years’ service.
Children at the preschool presented Audrey with a specially made card, and staff and governors treated her to a farewell meal.
Audrey helped to found the original pre-school group at what is now Andover Iron Age Museum when she arrived in Andover from London. On her retirement she said: “I look back with pride at my time here and I will be sad to go, but I think it is the right time for me to move on now.
“When I came to Andover there was nowhere for families to go so we set about setting somewhere up so that they had support.
“To begin with we could cater for 40 children but now we can hold as many as 68 children.
“I have met so many fantastic children and families through my work and even been a queen during the jubilee celebrations!”
