TWO good friends, Jenny Gow and Janet Rolls, are raising money in Andover for the Ark Cancer Charity.

The charity needs to raise £5 million for a much-needed cancer centre to be built in North Hampshire.

The centre will bring both chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment together with complementary therapies under one roof in a unique state of the art building.

Janet was diagnosed with breast cancer and is still undergoing treatment.

She is keen to give something back by supporting the charity so that the cancer treatment journey can be made easier for people diagnosed with the disease in the future.

Jenny and Janet have been selling raffle tickets over the weeks leading up to Christmas and hope to raise £5,000 towards the fundraising target.

Janet said: “We have been amazed by the support we’ve received from local companies including Homebase, Randall Parker Foods, Norton Park Hotel, Thruxton Racing, Tidworth Golf Club, Broadway Garage, Phil Evans Photography, David Mellor & Sons Jewellers and Finkley Farm, we are so very grateful for their donations that will make the raffle amazing with over 60 prizes.”

The grand prize draw will take place in Wilkinson’s in Bridge Street on Sunday, 15 December at 10.30am.

Andover Carnival’s prince and princess will be in Wilkinson’s to draw the winning tickets.
