TWO coachloads of Test Valley Brass band members and supporters travelled to Disneyland Paris to performed at the 3,500 capacity ‘Videopolis’.

Although the weekend trip was organised by the band, the arrangements with the Disney Corporation enabling the band to perform in such a fabulous setting along with hotel accommodation and park tickets was organised by Take us 2 the Magic.

Lorraine Norburn, of Take us 2 the Magic, said: “They have a very talented group of performers, who are a credit to them. The performance was certainly well received in the Videopolis.”

Helen Grimsey, of Test Valley Brass, said: “This is certainly the biggest group we have ever taken on a tour and included some of our youngest members from our beginner band Frostys, as well as members from the youth and senior bands.

“The experience for the players and supporters alike was truly magical and I am sure will be remembered for many years to come.”

Alun Grace, musical director of the youth band, conducted them on stage. He said: “I was delighted with the playing of the band and the way we approached the concert from the dressing room to the stage and after the performance.

“As I looked around the band I could see that every single player from the youngest to the oldest was giving their all for the band.

“I am truly proud of what we achieved with a young band on a big stage.

“I can honestly say that it will always be one of the best moments of my time as a conductor.”

Test Valley Brass can be heard in Andover at a Christmas concert at The Lights on 15 December.
