On a roll at disco
9:00am Thursday 24th October 2013 in News
ANDOVER will be rolling back the years on 1 November with the return of the town’s near legendary roller disco to Andover Leisure Centre.
The event is being held after a Facebook page showed a big demand for another disco. The last ones were held in the late 1980s.
Linda Arnold, sport and activity development manager for Valley Leisure, who run Andover Leisure Centre, said: “We’re very excited to be bringing back such a popular event.
“Lots of people have very fond memories of past roller discos, and we can’t wait to give them some new ones.”
On Friday, 1 November, there will be two events – a family skate session from 3pm, and a session for older skaters, aged 11 and over, from 7pm.
The discos will have a DJ and light show, with snacks and soft drinks, and a licensed bar will be open at the evening event.
Skates can be hired, and tickets are available on the door.
Valley Leisure hopes to put on future roller discos at the leisure centre if the event is successful.
