A FORMER American pro footballer has been at Harrow Way Community School working with the Year 11 students.
Jim Roberson, now a motivational coach, bases his training on a blend of his own personal experiences and rapid-fire interactive activities with the ultimate purpose of helping students get the best out of themselves for a successful future.
Jim said: “This session is about creating what you want to achieve and understanding what to do to achieve it.
“The only thing I have is an education – but that will let me work anywhere in the world, anytime."
Jim works extensively with schools across the country and this was his third visit to Harrow Way.
Tony Parsons, deputy headteacher (operations), said: “Jim's exuberant style is irresistible and he is an incredibly inspirational speaker.
“Not only are we preparing these students for the successful conclusion of their time here at Harrow Way but we also want to ensure that we give them as many skills and tools as possible for a positive and happy future.
“We very much believe that our students should aspire to great things and by exposing them to experts such as Jim, their eyes and minds are open to all manner of opportunities.”
