Second Wimpy opens
9:00am Wednesday 9th October 2013 in News
A SECOND Wimpy has been officially opened in Andover, with the franchise bringing a new takeaway to Bridge Street.
Hampshire County Councillor Tony Hooke was on hand to cut the ribbon alongside owner Ali Bilgic, area manager Simon Noble and director Chris Woolfenden.
All profits from the first day of trading are to be donated to local charity Naomi House and this will also be the case when the Wimpy celebrates the first birthday of its main restaurant in the town’s High Street.
At the opening, Councillor Hooke said: “The opening of this store is very good news, particularly as this is a local franchise, meaning the money stays in the town, unlike with other big companies.
“Wimpy employ 48 people from across the town as well, which is fantastic.”
Mr Woolfenden said: “We noticed the opportunity for these premises and with the success of our other store and the evening trade tending to be situated here in the town, it made a lot of sense.”
The store will be open six days a week from 11.30am until 11.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays.
