MORE young people have been employed through an Andover company’s career scheme.
Be Wiser Insurance, which has five offices in the town, has taken on 15 new starters in its undergraduate initiative.
The students have been enrolled on its Surestart undergraduate career scheme and the company will now be looking to recruit 20 more in the coming months.
The programme will see the new employees enjoy a three-year package that includes a basic annual salary of £18,000.
At the end of the three years, the employees will have an advanced diploma certificate in insurance, which is a professional qualification equivalent to a degree and would typically take up to five years to get.
The fast-track scheme is based at Wiser Academy’s purpose designed training facility in Winchester Street, Andover.
Chairman Mark Bower- Dyke said: “We are delighted to welcome the new starters who have gained a place in our Surestart Development Programme.
“We look forward to welcoming more – the last date for applications is 31 October.
“Through comprehensive training, genuine responsibility and personal mentor support, the scheme gives them the chance to gain the competence and confidence to shape a career in the insurance industry.”
He added: “The scheme isn’t just about getting a qualification – it will give them the required knowledge to succeed in the business world.”
