Carfest rolls into Overton
9:00am Friday 23rd August 2013 in News
CARFEST has arrived in Laverstoke, bringing one of Britain’s biggest festivals to the Overton area.
Live bands including Keane, Ocean Colour Scene, Alfie Boe and Texas will be performing over the weekend with a whole host of spectacular cars on show.
Various new traffic measures will be implemented over the weekend to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible.
The narrowest section of the C29 will be one way while traffic is entering or leaving the festival.
When arriving it will be one way northbound and when leaving southbound Waltham Lane through South Litchfield to Popham Airfield will be southbound one way for the duration of the weekend.
A temporary speed limit is in place until 26 August of 30mph from the Laverstoke Farm shop entrance to 500 yards past Berrydown Lane.
A 40mph speed limit is in place until 7pm on Monday, 26 August from Roundwood to the Farm Shop entrance.
It should be noted that for the Aston Martin parade celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the brand, the cars will drive out of the event site and through Overton at approximately 11.15am and 11.35am on Sunday, 25 August.
They will be escorted by the police and will maintain enforced speed limits at all times.
