Beth and Naomi are star cooks

TWO students from John Hanson Community School have finished runners-up in the regional final of the Create and Cook competition at Newlyns Farm Cookery School.
Beth Wright and Naomi Colley were two of eight young cooks who went to the regional final.
The finalists were chosen from schools on the Isle of Wight, West Sussex and Hampshire, who cooked theirmenus in front of a team of judges and had to remain calm under pressure.
Beth and Naomi cooked pork, sage and apple burgers with caramelised onions, served with homemade chutney, Hampshire watercress saladand homemade wedges. Their dessert was raspberry and white chocolate meringue roulade topped with raspberry coulis and toasted hazelnuts. Their recipe can be downloaded from fit2cook.co.uk/recipes. The pair were also asked by the organisers, Fit to Cook Education, to showcase their dishes at Alton Agricultural Show.
