Car stolen from Andover driveway
3:03pm Monday 4th March 2013 in Andover
A CAR was stolen from a driveway in Andover.
At about 9pm on Saturday, 23 February a woman knocked on the door of a home in Manor Road.
When the victim opened the door the woman told her that she was collecting sponsorship money for a breast cancer charity.
Because of the cold weather, the victim invited the woman into the hallway, and then into the kitchen while she found some money for her.
The following morning the victim discovered that her car, a blue Ford Focus, had been taken from the driveway of her home. The car keys were also found to be missing from the house.
The woman police would like to speak to is described as white, with brown wavy hair and aged in her mid 20s.
Pc Sarah Newnham said: “I would like to hear from anyone who saw the woman in the Manor Road area or anyone who has received any similar callers at their homes on or around Saturday, February 23.
“As always, I would advise members of the community not to invite cold callers into their homes.”
Anyone with information should contact Pc Newnham at Andover police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
