Give a tasty treat to vulnerable children
8:00am Tuesday 5th March 2013 in Andover
PEOPLE are being asked to think of forgotten children this year when they buy Easter treats for their own families.
Hundreds of children and vulnerable young adults benefited last year when Andover foodbank distributed chocolate eggs via agencies such as Children’s Services, Home-Start, Mencap and Little Oaks Children’s Centre.
Mary Ward, the coordinator at Romsey Young Carers, stressed this scheme was important “not just because children love chocolate, but because the message that comes with each egg is that people care about each child”.
“You can help give a treat and more importantly show local children, young people and vulnerable adults in our community that we care about them this Easter by donating mediumsized chocolate eggs.”
All donations must be taken to the foodbank in Alexandra Road, or to The Bridge Community Building, Co-operative funeralcare, Dunnings, Salvation Army shop and St Mary’s Church, Church Close by Sunday, 10 March.
