Reading bus info is a tall order
EVEN the tallest of residents might struggle to know where and when buses are coming with this timetable.
The bus stop information board, on Wolversdene Road, Andover, at an estimated 8ft height, has caused amusement in the town.
It is for a Stagecoach bus stop for the number 4 service that takes passengers to the town centre.
Resident David Lindsell, who spotted the timetable earlier this week, said he thought it could only really be read by people higher than 8ft tall and that not much thought appeared to have gone into its positioning.
He said he believed it was moved when the street lighting column was recently replaced.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach said: “We are liaising with Hampshire County Council to have the timetable case repositioned to a suitable height.”
Councillor Mel Kendal, deputy leader and executive member for environment and transport at Hampshire County Council, said: “We apologise for any inconvience caused to bus users.
New street lighting has been installed in the area recently and it appears that the timetable case was attached to the new street lighting column at that height in error.
“We have made arrangements for this to be moved lower down the column as soon as possible.”
