Group settles in at new base
CAFE Teen Youth Club in Overton is enjoying its new home after switching to the newly opened Berrydown Pavilion.
The group meet every other Friday night for activities, games and contests providing a place for children to enjoy their evening.
Organiser Earl Robinson said: “We are really enjoying the new home, it is a great space, it has much parking for parents and they have really worked with us allowing us to store our stuff there as well.
“The club is aimed at Year 7 and 8 and a normal evening consists of games or activity while they assemble, then more games and activities based on the topic of the evening.
“Along with games and activities there is also a teaching slot with a Christian message.
This is varied in its approach and delivery.
“After an hour of the club we then put out our tables and stools and turn it into a cafe with smoothies, soda, chocolate bars, muffins and coffee available all for 50p each.”
Cafe Teen is a joint effort between St Mary’s Church and The Community Church in Overton, led by members from each of the churches.
