ANDOVER’S carnival royalty have been out in Folly Pocket Park, near Andover College, to make the area a prettier place next spring by planting 200 wild bulbs.

The carnival prince and princess were joined by their attendants and members of their families as well as the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Dorothy Baverstock, on Tuesday afternoon getting their hands dirty for a good cause.

Cllr Baverstock said: “They asked me to come and I said I would be delighted.”

Sarah Johnson, green space officer at Test Valley Borough Council, said: “We have been planting native bluebells and wood anemones. We have done a lot of things in Vigo Park so it’s nice to be here as a lot of people cut through this park. If community groups or schools want to get involved in the planting to make Andover’s green areas even more beautiful they should get in touch with me.”
