Make a Difference day in Andover's Chantry Centre
4:21pm Friday 26th October 2012 in Andover
THE Chantry Shopping Centre’s Free Community Calender is back once again in Andover tomorrow 27 October and this month it’s local mental health charity Andover Mind. They’ll be on hand to listen, give support and advice for anything you might need help with to improve your well-being. The event is between 11-4pm in the Chantry Court Garden’s and will start with a performance by the Sing for Fun Performance singers. They say that singing is great for improving mental well-being and fits into the “connect” and “keep learning” categories of the 5 ways to well-being. Saturday 27 October is also Make a Difference Day and so they will also be helping you to get involved with how you can help others by volunteering and teach you about all the activities and services that they provide. Andover Mind also has advocacy, counselling and dementia advice services, as well as a renovation project called Ugly Ducking where they recycle and renovate furniture. Mandy Moore from Andover Mind sais: “It’s great that we have been given this wonderful opportunity by The Chantry Centre to promote our charity and it’s great cause and we hope to be able to speak to many people on the day! We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone, so we’re here for you whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis or just want some ideas about how to look after your mental health”. Centre Manager at The Chantry Centre, Steve Cotney said “The Community Calender at The Chantry Centre always has so much to offer and what’s more it’s always for free.”
