HOUSE-HUNTERS have received some good news with the launch of a 4.99 per cent three-year fixed-rate mortgage on a George Wimpey development in Basingstoke.
The money-saving deal at Marnel Park offers buyers the opportunity to enjoy lower monthly payments at a time when lending rates are high.
With homes on the development, which is part of the regeneration of Popley, starting from £131,995, it's also a chance for first-time buyers to get a foothold on the property ladder.
Tim Betts, regional sales and marketing director, said: "Our 4.99 per cent mortgage rate gives customers the chance to make big monthly savings on a new home at Marnel Park.
"By reducing their outgoings from the day they move, home buyers can ease financial pressures at a time when they may have just bought their first home, changed career or welcomed a new addition to the family."
Marnel Park offers a wide range of homes, from one and two-bedroomed apartments to three and four-bedroomed family-sized properties.
The detached three-bedroomed "Onyx" is priced from £264,995 and features a living room with a bay window to the front and French doors to the back garden. The wide entrance hall leads to a kitchen with a partial open-plan design to a dining room.
Upstairs, there is a master bedroom with an en suite shower room, and the other two bedrooms share the family bathroom.
George Wimpey is also offering incentives for first-time buyers and its "Easymover" programme means customers with a house to sell can reserve a new home while the housebuilder helps to find a buyer for their current property.
Guests were served Pimms and strawberries at a balloon release, while raising vital funds for the North Hampshire Medical Fund.
The Paddocks is a collection of three and four-bedroomed homes priced from £249,995.
