Victorian cottage returns to the market

10:57am Friday 8th August 2008

WHEN four old cottages were sold for refurbishment by agent Knight Frank, potential house-hunters were queuing up to view them.

Now, one of the renovated homes has come back to the market with a price guide of £525,000 after its accommodation has been almost doubled in size.

Woodside has a rural setting on the edge of Dummer village at what was Kennel Farm and dates back to the Victorian era.

It was built in 1860 and has had a large garden room built to lead off the sitting room. The front door opens into a dining room in which the fireplace has been fitted with a wood-burning stove.

Cream units in the kitchen have integrated appliances, including the oven and hob, and the ground-floor accommodation is completed by a utility room and cloakroom.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has an en suite shower room and two more bedrooms share a family bathroom, which features a double-ended bath.

A newly-constructed double garage is built in the style of a cart barn and the gardens have recently been landscaped.

The vendors have gone back to Knight Frank to market the property.
