RESIDENTS across Basingstoke and Deane are set to receive a form asking them to confirm their details as part of the borough council’s annual voter registration canvass.
Each year an enquiry form is sent to every household to ensure the electoral register is up-to-date and to identify any residents who are not registered.
Residents who are registered will be able to cast their votes in local election and the Police and Crime Commissioner elections which will take place in May 2016.
Karen Brimacombe, electoral registration officer at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, said: “Anyone that wants to vote must be registered.
“To make sure you are able to have your say at the elections next year, simply check the form when it arrives and respond as promptly as possible.”
The new register of electors will be published in December 2015. For more information, call 01256 845355 or visit aboutmyvote.co.uk.
