THE Labour prospective parliamentary candidate Dr Paul Harvey was thrilled to address students at this afternoon’s debate at Queen Mary’s College.
Dr Harvey, who is also the deputy leader of the borough’s Labour group, is hoping to be Basingstoke’s next MP following the General Election on May 7.
He told The Gazette: “I thoroughly enjoyed it and there were great questions and it was great to talk to them after the event and that is what it is all about.
“People answer questions and what to hear them answered properly. For me it is so important to engage with young people.
"I want to show them that politicians can do something because so many people are suspicious of politicians and we have to make a difference.”
