THIS month, All Saints’ Church, at the Top of The Town, begins its centenary celebrations.

In July 1915 the foundation stone was laid, and in 1917 the building was completed and dedicated. We have been collecting together people’s memories of the last 100 years.

Our memories are an important part of who we are, some joyful, others painful, and some embarrassing.

Nearly 40 years ago I found myself walking up Bounty Road towards All Saints’ for the first time, just twoand- a-half months after I was injured in a road accident in which my first husband died. There I found the love and encouragement I needed to help me in building a new life and which eventually led to me being ordained six years ago. The love that I felt came from God, who loves and cares for each of us – we just have to open the door and go in.

If you haven’t been to church before or not for a long time why not try a church near you – you may be surprised at the welcome you will find when you try.
