Two escape unhurt after plane crash
TWO people have escaped unhurt after their plane crashed at a north Hampshire airfield.
A Piper PA-28 light aircraft lost both wings and its fuselage split in two when it crashed after overshooting the runway at Popham Airfield at Micheldever on Saturday night.
The pilot and passenger, aged 51 and 44, managed to get out before fire crews arrived.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch is investigating the cause of the crash, which happened at about 9pm.
Fire crews were called to secure the plane wreckage, which was leaking fuel.
